Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches and contributions about the small choices that help people meet, take part and share neighbourhood life. Proposals should offer readers a clear idea they can adapt without needing specialist authority.
What we welcome
Pitch subjects connected to gatherings, conversation, shared spaces, belonging or local traditions. A strong contribution might explain a social choice, compare two approaches, explore the background to a familiar custom or suggest a considerate way to plan a particular occasion.
A useful pitch
Tell us the working title, the central point, who might find it useful and what makes the subject distinct. Keep the idea focused: one piece should have one main recommendation or question, supported by concrete everyday examples. Avoid claims that depend on local rules, professional advice, invented experience or unverified facts.
How to send it
Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; please do not send a complete article unless we have requested one. We cannot promise to accept or respond to every submission.
Community is made in the small moments.
A spare chair, a clear invitation or a familiar greeting can make a real difference to how easy it feels to join in. We look for ideas that leave room for different people and ways of taking part.
